Lawn Treatment – Tips on How to Care For Your Lawn

Does your lawn look dry and unhealthy? If you’re looking for tips on how to make your garden beautiful, the first tip I will give you is to give your outdoor space a lawn treatment.

A couple of months ago, my husband and I were working on our garden. We wanted the best garden for summer and we hired a gardener to help us out.

The first thing he told us? “Before you look for garden design ideas, check the state of your lawn first. What’s the use of all the decorating if your foundation is unhealthy?”

Need tips on how to care for your lawn? Here are lawn treatment tips that you can do yourself:

1. Water Deep, Water Early

When it comes to watering your lawn, it is better to water it early in the morning, so the water won’t evaporate so quickly. Also, water deeply. Doing this well help the grass develop deep roots.

2. Mow high

When mowing your lawn, don’t raze the grass to the ground. Leave a few inches out. Mowing your lawn high will help it keep moisture and crowd out weeds.

3. Reuse grass clippings

When you mow your lawn, put the clippings back into the lawn. This way, all the nutrients in the grass clippings will go back to the soil.

4. Use organic fertilizer

Chemicals can be harmful for the soil and your plants. So, when you fertilize your lawn, make sure you use organic lawn fertilizer. You can even opt to make your own fertilizer by composting used coffee grinds.

Warning: If you don’t care for your lawn properly and fertilize it at least once a year, your grass and plants will become dry and unhealthy! So make sure you exercise proper lawn treatment.
